Glassic’s Store Launch Was All About Spunk And Substance, Served With A Dash Of Eyewear, Of Course

1st July, 2018 was a memorable day for Glassic since the inception of the company. Reason? Our flagship store was launched—an invite-only affair with close friends and family, people from the press, and key individuals from the lifestyle space, over beverages and hors-d'oeuvres.

The 1400 square feet open, non-counter intrusive store in 12th Main, Indiranagar was started because there were many people who also wanted to try on our eyewear physically and buy it. People wanted the experience and it was about time we gave that to them.

The event was conceptualised (along with Glassic) and opened by none other than fashion guru Prasad Bidapa.

Prasad Bidapa is a Bangalore based fashion stylist and choreographer for various fashion events and shows. In short, he is a known fashion consultant, choreographer, image consultant and stylist. Moreover, he is reputed to have a gift for spotting talent and he has picked and groomed top models who have gone on to make it big in the fashion and the film industry. Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Anushka Sharma and Dino Morea were some of his finds.

Needless to say, but grace, repertoire, and spunk follow Bidapa like Martin Scorsese follows Robert De Niro! Not to forget his brigade of beautiful and graceful models graced the space with a short-yet-power-packed fashion show—Glassic’s eyewear range paired with various Western, Indo-Western, and Indian attire(s). We have planned a separate segment on this later.

The event kicked off at around 5 pm with Bidapa opening the store with the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Soon after, the store was taken over by the media and a suit of lifestyle bloggers and the guests. The space got busy as the floor was open for Q&A sessions, which were flamboyantly clarified by co-founder Kailash (featured in the video above) and Devesh Nichani (featured in the video below). This was followed by photo ops, selfies, a fashion show, and much more.

The evening was not just about introducing Glassic’s new store, but also putting forth the idea, ‘Why is eyewear sold with such seriousness?’ And that Glassic is ‘a fun and easy to use type of brand’. At the same time, it understands the seriousness of being precise with its products. This was imperative to be displayed in the store.

Overall, the event started with a high note and it kept its tempo going till the end of the evening.

On that note, here is a video highlight of the event.

Up next, the fashion show in all its glory. Watch this space for more. Story coming soon.
