According to Wikipedia “Passion is a feeling of intense enthusiasm towards or compelling desire for someone or something. Passion can range from eager interest in or admiration for an idea, proposal, or cause; to enthusiastic.”
Since our current campaign #ShadesofSound is centred people’s passions, we thought it would be great to highlight why passion is important, not just as creator, but it helps you see the true meaning of life, and chase things that you love!
Passion builds upon passion
Passion is like love, the more you give, the more you will get. It’s energy, right, and a positive one at that, so it has a tendency to spread. Think of any person you look up to, say a musician. You don’t just adore him/her because they are flawless with what they do, but, there is passion and truth in their work. This is why you connect with them, and they have an unconsciously effect on you.
Passion can also start with a thought, so we should always try to keep that alive in whatever form possible. Telling people that there is something out there waiting, can also help them. “Why are you doing this? You will not make money for this.” This is a common question in India households, right? Well, things would be different if parents or people would say, “Try, you will get there.” Passion moves. Passion is key to self-discovery.
A passionate field is must for everyone, because if you are passionate about what you do them. But this will only come when you have constant sources of encouragement not just from home, but from your relatives and peers too. If you don’t follow your passion in some capacity, even as a hobby, you’re preventing the exploration of who you are as a whole.
It’s a challenge, but it’s worth it
Saying is easy, but working on it is difficult. But, then when you love what you do, it’s all a joy, it’s no work. But, let’s be practical, there will be times when you will be frustrated, and that’s normal. It’s part of the process. Also, this is the time when you take a break. What matters the most is if you are growing as a person through your own exploration of whatever you feel passionate about.
Helps you connect will like-minded people
Seeking your passion offers the opportunity to seek out a community of like-minded people who are passionate about similar things you are. This will help you identify things and crystalise even further. And you can see why artists and creative people celebrate with each other. It does not just hone their skills, but helps them explore new ideas and views. Further, it’s fun to be passionate about something and then find someone else who can geek out with you about that topic—that would the perfect Sunday, for sure!
Passion is what adds uniqueness
Passion gives you a purpose—a power to do things because you want it, and not because your uncle thinks it’s cool. The level of passion you have towards something adds to your uniqueness. People start taking you and your craft seriously too. Why do you think people take people like MS Dhoni, Aamir Khan seriously? Because passion for their craft just bleeds out of them.
Taking things further, Glassic’s story is also lined with passion and grit. Glassic’s founders, Kailash and Devesh Nichani, left their full-fledged careers at companies like Google to pursue their decade-old passion of adding quirk to the eyewear industry. Since this campaign is tied to music too, we will like to add that Kailash and Devesh share a deep love for music as well. When they are no working Devesh spends his time spinning some tunes on his turntables, while Kailash loves playing the drums.
