Yes, we do! We have 1.67 index lenses in both Single Vision & Progressive formats.
I don’t see any Bi-Focal lenses on your site. Why?
Bi-focal lenses as the name suggests, allow you to focus only at two points - distance & reading. But today, due to the burst of electronic devices such as computers, tablets & phones, we need to look at a new distance known as intermediate distance. It’s the area between ready & distance vision (8-12 inches distance) and is also known as arm’s length distance. It is viewed through the middle of the lens.
Bi-focal lenses do not allow you to read at an intermediate distance because of the line in the middle of the lens and it’s exactly because of this reason that they are considered obsolete today. The best lenses that help you read at all distances are Progressive lenses.
How do Progressive lenses work exactly?
Progressive lenses are also known as multifocal lenses or varifocal lenses. These lenses basically help you look through all distances comfortably and aim to provide the most natural vision to you.
Unlike bifocals, they have no line separating the distance from reading vision. This makes the progression from distance to intermediate & intermediate to reading very smooth and also makes you look younger.
What are prescription sunglasses?
Prescription sunglasses are also known as powered sunglasses. These are basically tinted lenses with your power. It’s highly beneficial for people who have powers and couldn’t wear sunglasses till now. The lens tints that are available are: Gray, Green & Brown.
What are polarised sunglasses?
Polarised sunglasses are up a notch from regular sunglasses because of it’s ability to cut off indirect sources of glare. When the sun’s rays enters the earth, it’s reflected off of various surfaces like the metal bodies of cars, water, road tar etc. Since these indirect sources of glare are cut off, you are presented with a very clear, crisp and pleasing view of your surrounding. All our regular sunglasses come default with a pair of polarised lenses and our prescription sunglasses come with the option of the polarised feature.
How is the cost of your lenses determined?
It’s pretty simple! The price you pay for lenses depends on:
Single Vision: Lens Material + Lens Coating + Add On (optional) = Lens Price
Progressives: Lens Design + Lens Material + Lens Coating + Add On (optional) = Lens Price
How do I use your prescription tool?
Just enter your power and follow the steps. Our tool recognises your power numbers and recommends you to select the thinnest lens material based on that. Following which, it recommends you to select the best coating & add on (optional). Of course, we only recommend your selection and you’re free to choose whichever option you like. Click the boxes within each category to understand what the features & cost of the item are.
For our progressive lenses, there’s an initial additional step that needs to be selected which is the lens design. This basically determines the field of view of a certain lens. Because progressives are a combination of reading & distance vision, the field of view reduces during the manufacturing process. Technological advancements have enabled to increase the field of view. So the wider the field of view, the better the lens.
I don’t understand the values in my prescription. Can I send it you instead of providing it online?
You could definitely email us your prescription at email@example.com along with your contact number. Once we receive it, we will contact you and walk you through entering the prescription.
What is Pupillary Distance? How can i measure it?
Pupillary distance is the distance between the pupils of your eyes. Basically, it’s the distance between the centre of both your eyes and it is measured in millimetres. We recommend you to get your PD measured during your eye test. It takes only a couple of minutes & is generally free of charge.
Do you accept contact lens prescriptions for glasses?
Sorry, that’s unacceptable. Though contact lenses and spectacle powers have similar readings, they have different impacts on your vision.
Oops! I entered some wrong values in your prescription tool. What should I do now?
We review every order carefully. But, we won't know if you meant to type 5 instead of 6, for example, so it's important you enter your information carefully and accurately. If we do come across anything ambiguous, we will contact you to clarify. The best way to ensure the accuracy of your prescription is to provide us with a copy of your prescription. You can send this out to firstname.lastname@example.org
I just got my spanking new pair of glasses! How do I take care of them??
Awesome! Don’t worry, there’s nothing to it! Let’s talk about your frame first. Since your frames are made from the finest materials, it’s very easy to maintain them. Just wipe it with the Glassic microfibre cleaning cloth/carrying case occasionally. In the event the frame gets a bit dirty, feel free to put it under running water and use your Glassic microfibre cleaning cloth/carrying case to wipe off the water. It’s that simple!
Next up, lenses. We dispense only Essilor branded lenses. Essilor is the number 1 ophthalmic lens manufacturer in the world! These guys are the inventors & pioneers of the best quality lenses & coatings and are extremely quality conscious. All lenses come with a dual scratch resistant coating by default. The optional anti-reflective coatings come along with water-resistance & a stronger form of scratch resistant coating, making these lenses even more durable!
Therefore, you only need to use the Glassic microfibre cleaning cloth/carrying case to clean those lenses. In the event you feel they need to be cleaned some more, feel free to put the lenses under running tap water and wipe it with the same Glassic microfibre cleaning cloth/carrying case. And don’t worry about your frames getting wet. The material of the frames doesn’t have any effect when put in water for a short period of time.
What should I NOT do to them?
Never keep your glasses lens down on any surface! Never wipe them with tissue paper, shirt/t-shirt or dupattas/sarees. All these can cause the lenses to scratch. Use only the Glassic microfibre cloth/carrying case to wipe your lenses.
My glasses keep slipping off my face! How do I fix them?
It’s a simple fix! Contact us on email@example.com and we’ll fill you in on what needs to be done.
If you happen to encounter any of the above issues, you will be eligible for a replacement within 1 year.
Scratches on the lenses is not considered a manufacturing defect, rather a problem that arises from handling the glasses. Hence, we cannot cover scratches under our warranty.
Its very unlikely that our frames would break due to a defect. In the event that it does, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll take a look at the nature of the issue and decide on the required action to be taken.
